Purpose Statement

  

The Association is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to facilitate understanding, development, and implementation of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Programs throughout the State of Arizona in order to promote and support collaborative efforts to create and sustain more effective interactions and programs among law enforcement; behavioral healthcare providers, individuals with behavioral health disorders, their families, and communities; and to reduce stigma related to behavioral health disorders; and to advocate for and create more effective behavioral health crisis response systems. The Association works to accomplish this purpose by: 1) promoting and supporting the development and sustaining of regional CIT Programs through partnerships between law enforcement services, behavioral healthcare services, and communities throughout Arizona; 2) supporting the conducting of regional trainings to achieve more effective behavioral health crisis response systems; and  3) advocating for more effective behavioral health services and programs that will assist members of the communities of Arizona who are living with behavioral health concerns find recovery.
